Accountant
Taylex Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team in Yatala. This full-time, onsite position offers a significant opportunity to take responsibility for month-end reporting and engage in commercial partnering within a manufacturing and stock-based environment. The role involves close collaboration with operational teams to provide insights and analysis that inform business decisions, alongside enhancing financial systems and controls.
Responsibilities:
Month-End & Financial Reporting
- Lead and coordinate the monthly close process for timely, accurate completion.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed variance analysis.
- Provide clear financial commentary on key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Investigate unusual movements and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and well documented.
Intercompany & Reconciliations
- Manage intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies promptly.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Analyse performance against budget and forecast with meaningful insights.
- Contribute to improving forecasting accuracy and financial visibility.
Commercial & Operational Partnering
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and scenario analysis.
- Identify cost efficiencies and performance improvement opportunities.
- Apply independent problem-solving and practical, workable solutions.
- Assist with scenario modelling and financial impact analysis.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Utilise financial systems (EXO, Power BI) to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls.
- Reduce manual processes through smarter system use and structured workflows.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure financial reporting adheres to company policy and accounting standards.
- Support audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Provide backup support for key finance functions as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A CA/CPA qualification or working towards one is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or a stock-based business.
- Strong working knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations, and management reporting.
- Experience with ERP/financial systems (EXO experience is an advantage) and Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- A commercial mindset with the confidence to partner with operational stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
