Waterfront Store & Cafe Church Point, situated near Mona Vale, NSW, is a dynamic, community-oriented enterprise. We are committed to providing excellent customer service while upholding robust operational and financial practices.

We are seeking a full-time Accountant for our Church Point location. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing our financial accounting and reporting functions. The position is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting informed business decisions, and maintaining adherence to all applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports in accordance with requirements and ensure their timely lodgement.
• Assist with and prepare quarterly BAS statements for the company and aid in their lodgement with the ATO.
• Assist with all tax-related matters, liaising with the ATO as required.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis to inform business decisions.
• Analyse and report on the business's revenue and expenditure.
• Maintain organised financial documentation and records in compliance with audit requirements.
• Prepare supporting documents for external auditors for tax returns.
• Oversee the business's operational costs and provide recommendations for minimization.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Liaise with management on all financial matters as they arise.

What We're Looking For:

• A Master's degree or equivalent in accounting.
• Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting, ideally 2-4 years in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting systems such as XERO, QuickBooks, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and general ledger management.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial records.
• Solid knowledge of Australian taxation requirements and GST compliance.
• The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to clearly explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in small to medium business accounting environments is advantageous.
• A professional approach to confidentiality and data security.
