You Only Live Once Watch Pty Ltd is seeking an Accountant to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This full-time, onsite position offers a salary of $75,000 – $85,000 per year.

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain accurate and timely financial records, support daily accounting operations including multi-currency transactions, manage inventory reconciliation and accounts receivable/payable, and ensure compliance for the company’s international watch trading activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Accounting:
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Process journals and month-end adjustments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Finalise and submit monthly BAS.
• Inventory Accounting:
• Record inventory purchases and sales.
• Reconcile physical inventory to accounting records.
• Monitor inventory movements and stock adjustments.
• Assist with inventory valuation and aging reports.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Export & Trade Transactions:
• Process export sales invoices.
• Verify shipping and customs documentation.
• Record international transactions accurately.
• Reconcile foreign currency transactions.
• Support GST/VAT and international tax reporting.
• Accounts Receivable:
• Issue customer invoices.
• Monitor outstanding balances.
• Follow up overdue accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts.
• Accounts Payable:
• Verify supplier invoices.
• Process payments.
• Reconcile supplier statements.
• Maintain payment schedules.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Assist with management reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide financial data for management analysis.
• Compliance & Audit:
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documents.
• Assist external auditors.
• Support tax compliance requirements.
• Ensure company policies and controls are followed.

Requirements:

• Experience:
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in a trading, wholesale, retail, export, or inventory-based business is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero).
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Experience with inventory accounting.
• Experience with multi-currency accounting.
• Strong reconciliation skills.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• CPA/CA studies are preferred.
