About New Horizons: Finance is the driving force behind our organisation. We are looking for a dedicated, strategic-minded Accounting Lead to join our Finance Operations team, playing a vital role in ensuring our financial health. Your Role and Impact: Our finance function delivers exceptional stakeholder experiences and ensures accurate, timely financial information. The Finance team maintains a forward-looking perspective on the business, industry, market, and customer needs, aligning finance with organisational objectives in a changing external environment.

As Accounting Lead, you will partner with the Financial Controller and key stakeholders to oversee and manage the Finance Operations team, primarily focusing on Accounts Receivable, NDIS Billings, and Accounts Payable. Your leadership will direct the processing of day-to-day transactions, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial information. This role will also involve supporting system implementation and improvement projects.

Key Competencies and Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience encompassing the full spectrum of financial accounting activities, including general accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Recognised professional qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
• Accreditation as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Practising Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable.
• Computer literacy with a sound knowledge of accounting software and spreadsheet programs.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to business units, managers, and employees.
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working under pressure.
• Strong planning and organising skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet agreed timeframes and required work quality.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem identification, analysis, and solving skills.
• Strong record-keeping and file management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

• National Criminal History Check (Police Check)
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
