We are looking for an Accounts Assistant with 1-2 years of experience to join our Finance team in Prestons. This role offers a valuable chance to build your accounting foundation and gain practical exposure to transactional accounting, reporting, and month-end procedures within a dynamic and cooperative setting. You will collaborate with seasoned finance professionals, contributing to the precision, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete processing of receipts and payments with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and contribute to the prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain organised and accurate finance documentation and e-filing systems.
- Support the Assistant Accountant with accounts receivable, accounts payable, reporting, and month-end processes.
- Aid with GST/VAT reporting and compliance obligations.
- Provide general administrative and finance support to the broader finance team.
Requirements:
- A Certificate or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting support role is preferred.
- Possess a basic understanding of accounting principles, GST/VAT, and bank reconciliation.
- Demonstrate intermediate Excel skills. NetSuite experience is advantageous.
- Show eagerness to learn and enhance technical accounting capabilities.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team.
- Exhibit an organised, reliable, and detail-focused approach.
