We are looking for an Accounts Assistant with 1-2 years of experience to join our Finance team in Prestons. This role offers a valuable chance to build your accounting foundation and gain practical exposure to transactional accounting, reporting, and month-end procedures within a dynamic and cooperative setting. You will collaborate with seasoned finance professionals, contributing to the precision, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete processing of receipts and payments with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and contribute to the prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain organised and accurate finance documentation and e-filing systems.
• Support the Assistant Accountant with accounts receivable, accounts payable, reporting, and month-end processes.
• Aid with GST/VAT reporting and compliance obligations.
• Provide general administrative and finance support to the broader finance team.

Requirements:

• A Certificate or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting support role is preferred.
• Possess a basic understanding of accounting principles, GST/VAT, and bank reconciliation.
• Demonstrate intermediate Excel skills. NetSuite experience is advantageous.
• Show eagerness to learn and enhance technical accounting capabilities.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team.
• Exhibit an organised, reliable, and detail-focused approach.
