FR8 Services PTY LTD is seeking an Accounts Officer to join their team. This role is central to supporting the Finance Team Leader and ensuring the efficient operation of the finance department. It offers broad, practical experience across all aspects of accounting and finance.
The Accounts Officer will assist the Finance Team Leader with daily financial operations and perform various accounting tasks to guarantee accurate, timely, and efficient financial processes throughout the organisation. This position covers Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Account Reconciliations, presenting a comprehensive accounting role with varied duties.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage and process Accounts Payable functions, including supplier invoice processing and supplier query resolution.
- Manage and process Accounts Receivable functions, including customer invoicing, receipt allocation, and account follow-up.
- Assist with payroll processing, verifying timesheets and calculating wages using the organisation's payroll model and system.
- Perform regular Bank / XERO reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Support the Finance Team Leader with day-to-day financial operations and accounting activities across the business.
- Collaborate with operational and administrative teams to gather financial information and resolve account-related queries.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for management review.
- Undertake ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as directed by the Finance Team Leader to support departmental goals and initiatives, including data entry as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualifications in finance or accounting are preferred but not desirable.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software is desirable, particularly MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity when handling financial information.
