Accounts Receivable Officer

Fettayleh Small Goods is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our finance team at our Prestons location. This is a full-time, onsite role.

This position offers an opportunity for an individual who thrives in a dynamic work environment, excels at cultivating robust customer relationships, and is keen to manage the complete accounts receivable process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise customer accounts.
  • Support effective credit management practices.
  • Drive timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address queries and enhance existing processes.

Your Contribution: Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts receivable operations. Your work will directly contribute to strong cash flow management, mitigate commercial risks, and provide valuable business insights.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable ledger for a varied customer base, including both high and low-volume accounts.
  • Process and allocate customer payments daily, ensuring accurate account records.
  • Handle recurring customer credit card and direct debit payments.
  • Prepare and distribute customer statements and account information.
  • Perform customer account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Proactively manage collections from customers with diverse trading terms.
  • Review customer credit limits and trading terms to minimise business risk.
  • Assist with monthly AR reporting and provide accurate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Complete bank account reconciliations.
  • Manage customer rebates, including reconciliation and processing of entries.
  • Investigate, resolve, and process customer claims by working with internal teams and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP and claims management systems.
  • Monitor claims processing to ensure timely resolution and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage a high-volume shared finance inbox, responding to customer queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Support the finance team with process improvements and ad hoc tasks as needed.

What You Will Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
  • Strong reconciliation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage a high-volume workload independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Aptitude for analytical and problem-solving, with the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in liaising with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or a comparable fast-paced industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with ERP systems and claims management systems is desirable.
