The University of Wollongong (UOW), recognised among the top 1% of universities globally, seeks an Asset Engineer (Building Services) to join its team in Wollongong. This full-time, onsite role offers a salary of $96,898 - $119,986 per annum plus 17% superannuation.

About the Role This position is integral to managing the lifecycle performance of UOW's built assets. You will contribute specialist engineering knowledge across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, vertical transport, and building automation systems, aiming to ensure campus environments are safe, compliant, and optimised for enduring functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake lifecycle asset management, encompassing condition assessments, risk evaluations, and renewal planning.
  • Maintain and improve asset data quality for planning, reporting, and compliance purposes.
  • Provide engineering advice and support for capital works, design reviews, and project delivery.
  • Champion continuous improvement within asset management systems and processes.

About the Team This role is part of the Infrastructure and Property Division, which is responsible for the planning, development, and management of the University's campuses and built environment, supporting its teaching, research, and community engagement activities.

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in asset or facilities engineering within complex operational settings.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, and relevant compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in lifecycle asset management and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
