Asset Strategy Engineer
Bayside Group is seeking an Asset Strategy Engineer for a full-time, onsite position in Melbourne VIC. The salary offered is $125,000 - $140,000 Including Super.
Our client is a well-established Australian company with a significant history of contributing to the growth and development of local industry. They operate from modern offices in Melbourne, overseeing and maintaining a diverse portfolio of transport and civil infrastructure, encompassing rail, signaling & CSR, roads, drainage, and some commercial/industrial buildings.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with proven experience in asset management and risk management to join a small team. The successful candidate will contribute to the creation and maintenance of asset risk, governance, assurance, and engineering strategies across a major infrastructure portfolio.
About the Role: This position is responsible for ensuring that Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies, and Risk Registers are kept current, aligned, and integrated. This supports risk-informed investment decisions and long-term asset planning.
The role involves working with various internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist with strategic lifecycle modelling, forward-looking condition assessment and monitoring programs, and support the development of innovation initiatives, concept justifications, cost-benefit analyses, and project scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
- Support the development of Engineering Strategies.
- Manage asset and operational risk registers.
- Apply risk-based decision-making to asset planning and capital investment.
- Provide governance and assurance support.
- Offer specialist support for Electrical and Rail compliance monitoring, along with high-level technical expertise across major and growth projects.
- Coordinate activities across internal stakeholders and consultants.
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in asset management, strategy, risk, or infrastructure compliance.
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 principles and asset management frameworks.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Exposure to electrical, rail, or infrastructure compliance is desirable.
- Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and TechnologyOne is desirable.
