About the Role

Morcofresh is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Assistant Accountant – Inbound to join our operations and finance support team. This role is crucial for the accurate and timely processing of inbound stock, purchase orders, and supplier documentation within a high-volume supply chain.

Working collaboratively with operations, category managers, suppliers, and warehouse teams, you will be instrumental in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting procurement, and ensuring smooth inbound logistics.

The Assistant Accountant – Inbound will manage inbound stock workflows, book purchase orders (PO), coordinate freight, and ensure inventory data integrity. You will be responsible for accurately and promptly recording all stock movements and supplier transactions, contributing to operational efficiency.

This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work a structured early-morning schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase Orders & Stock Booking
  • Accurately raise Purchase Orders (POs) in the system.
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking of inbound stock.
  • Maintain purchase notes, including delivery receipts, transport documents, and related records.
  • Collaborate with operations and category managers to ensure POs are approved, signed, and completed promptly.
  • Supplier Communication & Issue Resolution
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve PO and invoice discrepancies, including:
  • Short or missing deliveries.
  • Non-receipts.
  • Damaged goods (with supporting documentation).
  • Maintain professional and timely communication for effective issue resolution.
  • Freight & Landed Cost Processing
  • Book freight shipments and accurately allocate landed costs.
  • Reconcile freight documentation against receipts and system records.
  • Inventory Data & System Management
  • Perform stock conversions, repacking, and inventory adjustments as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure system integrity.
  • Operational Support & Coordination
  • Monitor shared inboxes for incoming invoices and delivery dockets.
  • Prepare and print documentation for incoming deliveries.
  • Follow up with warehouse teams and category managers to ensure accurate stock bookings and prevent omissions.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week.
  • Available for an early morning shift: 2:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2 years’ experience in accounting, inventory, logistics, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of purchase order processing and stock management.
  • Exposure to ERP systems and PO booking processes is highly regarded.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy skills.
  • Experience in high-volume data entry environments is advantageous.
