Assistant Accountant

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, your duties will encompass:
- Preparing daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
- Processing and reviewing supplier invoices, verifying approvals and coding accuracy.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Assisting with BAS preparation and month-end reporting.
- Maintaining loan registers and calculating monthly interest for third-party loans.
- Processing creditor payments using online banking platforms.
- Assisting with broker trail payments and investor distributions.
- Processing investor transactions, including fund allocations, transfers, and redemptions.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Assisting with audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.
- Maintaining precise workpapers and supporting financial documentation.
- Identifying potential improvements to finance processes and controls.
- Providing ad hoc reporting and administrative support to the finance team as needed.
About You
To be considered for this position, you will ideally possess:
- Prior experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer, or Bookkeeping capacity.
- A solid understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Exposure to month-end processes and general ledger accounting.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Experience with MYOB is advantageous but not essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the capacity for collaborative work across the business.
- A proactive attitude and a readiness to learn and develop.
