Your Opportunity
We have an excellent opening for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Sydney. This full-time, permanent role presents a significant opportunity for an accounting professional eager to learn, grow, and establish a long-term career in finance. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller in a collaborative setting, your responsibilities will encompass:
Financial Accounting:
- Processing accounts payable and receivable.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations.
- Processing corporate credit card claims and verifying expenditure against internal policies.
- Supporting commissions code setup and ongoing maintenance.
- Tracking significant vendor expenses to identify trends and upcoming contract renewals.
- Assisting with month-end accounting tasks.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Continuously reviewing and developing departmental processes to enhance efficiencies, increase output value, and mitigate operational risk.
- Liaising with and managing the expectations of internal stakeholders, including Advisers, support staff, senior management, and external parties as needed.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
About You:
- 1 to 2 years of experience with accounts payable.
- Working knowledge of Fringe Benefit Tax.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Accounting or a related degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
