FourQuarters Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a growing and well-established organisation in Melbourne VIC to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant on a contract, onsite basis. This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity.

This role presents a significant opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional currently studying towards their CPA, seeking to advance their technical accounting proficiencies within a supportive finance team. The position offers exposure to month-end reporting, financial accounting, and compliance, making it suitable for an individual aiming for career progression and gaining practical experience in a comprehensive accounting capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with month-end close processes.
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management reports.
• Assisting with BAS preparation and lodgement.
• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring data integrity.
• Supporting audit requirements and year-end processes.
• Assisting with process improvement initiatives across the finance function.

About You:

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA/CA qualification or currently studying towards one.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Eager to learn, take on new challenges, and develop professionally.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
