About the Role
Manningham Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals with outstanding experience for the role of an independent member on its Audit and Risk Committee. This is a three-year fixed-term position.
The Council manages a diverse business portfolio to meet community needs while adhering to legislative requirements. The Audit and Risk Committee operates under a Charter in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020. As an advisory committee to the Council, its function is to assist in fulfilling responsibilities related to governance, risk, assurance, and financial reporting. The Committee consists of three independent members and two Councillors.
This role is intended to complement existing committee strengths and contribute to a diverse skill set. We are looking for individuals with specialist knowledge and professional qualifications to serve as an independent member. The successful candidate will possess local government experience with expertise in:
- Risk and assurance
- Public sector governance
- Internal audit
- Financial management
Responsibilities
- Attend five Audit and Risk Committee Meetings per year.
