Nexia Sydney presents an opportunity for an Audit Supervisor to assume a key role in delivering high-quality audit engagements for a varied clientele. You will serve as the primary contact for assigned audits, overseeing the entire audit process from initiation to conclusion, while also guiding and supporting team members. This position offers significant interaction with Partners and avenues to enhance your professional standing and referral network within the firm.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supervise and execute audit assignments in alignment with Nexia’s Audit Approach.
• Act as the primary point of control and client liaison for audit engagements.
• Plan and program audit assignments, encompassing risk identification and the development of suitable audit strategies.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and staffing to ensure efficient and high-standard audit delivery.
• Review work papers and audit files to confirm quality, compliance, and completeness.
• Finalise audits for Manager or Director review, including financial statements and management letters.
• Proactively engage with clients, cultivating robust and trusted relationships.
• Provide value-adding insights and identify potential for additional services.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff through practical coaching and feedback.
• Support team engagement, performance, and training initiatives.
• Contribute to business development activities and firm-wide internal initiatives.

Salary: Starting from $115,000 inclusive of superannuation.

Candidate Profile:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in external audit within a Chartered or professional services firm.
• A completed relevant accounting qualification (CA or equivalent preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, audit methodology, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, and reviewing audit engagements across various client types.
• Proven ability to identify and assess audit and engagement risks.
• Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Advanced proficiency in audit and accounting systems (e.g., Caseware, APS, MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Office.
• Full Australian work rights.
