BOOKKEEPER / PAYROLL
ASI Locksmiths is seeking a reliable, detail-focused individual for an onsite, full-time BOOKKEEPER / PAYROLL position in Canberra ACT. The salary range is $80,000 – $90,000 per year.
This is a hands-on role focused on the day-to-day administration of accounts, payroll, banking, and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will be organised, accurate, trustworthy, and confident in managing financial records, supplier payments, payroll processes, and account reconciliations. You will collaborate closely with management to ensure smooth accounts operations, support compliance needs, and guarantee timely and accurate payments, records, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll, encompassing timesheets, leave, pay rates, payroll reports, and banking confirmations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, supplier payments, debtor statements, and follow-up on overdue payments.
- Undertake banking tasks, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and associated record-keeping.
- Prepare and support BAS, GST, and IAS reporting, including monthly and quarterly account checks.
- Maintain superannuation records and payments, adhering to pay run and compliance deadlines.
- Keep MYOB and ETS (our job management system) accurate, including client, supplier, and account setup.
- Monitor the accounts email calendar for reminders, due dates, bills, and urgent payments.
- Support petty cash, receipts, insurance records, business registers, filing, and general accounts administration.
- Assist with new staff onboarding and staff exit processes, including payroll and access-related administration.
- Uphold strong internal controls by verifying approvals, payment details, supporting documents, and filing requirements.
About You:
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration, payroll, or a similar finance support role.
- Comfortable using MYOB/Xero, with experience in payroll and day-to-day accounting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with financial information.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, superannuation, BAS, GST, and IAS processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage regular deadlines in a fast-paced industry.
- Professional communication skills and confidence in following up with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- A trustworthy, practical, and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Regular police checks and no criminal history are mandatory requirements for the locksmith industry.
