Agnii eatery bar pty ltd is establishing one of Melbourne's most exciting new hospitality ventures and is seeking a Business Operations Manager for a part-time, onsite role in Windsor.
AGNII, a premium restaurant and late-night bar set to open on Chapel Street, is the vision of Founder, Director, and Executive Chef Gayan Pieris. It offers a contemporary take on Sri Lankan village life, focusing on fire, flavour, and genuine hospitality to deliver an unforgettable guest experience. Inspired by tradition and designed for modern Melbourne, AGNII will feature exceptional food, an ambitious wine program, and world-class hospitality within a beautifully designed space.
This permanent, part-time position reports directly to Founder, Director, and Executive Chef, Gayan Pieris. The Business Operations Manager will serve as the operational backbone, supporting finance, people, and business operations to help establish AGNII as a leading Melbourne dining destination.
This role is intentionally designed as a two-day-per-week position, ideally scheduled across Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. The company believes exceptional people may not always seek full-time roles and is looking for an experienced and highly organised professional who thrives on creating structure, building systems, and supporting a high-performing team from behind the scenes. Working closely with Gayan Pieris and the Venue Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the business operates efficiently, compliantly, and professionally from its inception. This role offers the opportunity to become a trusted business partner, establishing the operational foundations so the leadership team can focus on delivering exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance:
- Accounts payable and supplier management.
- Invoice processing, reconciliations, and cost coding.
- Xero administration.
- Weekly cash reconciliations.
- Payroll preparation and payroll review support.
- Creditor management.
- Liaising with the external accountant.
- People:
- Recruitment administration.
- Employment contracts and onboarding.
- Employee records and HR administration.
- Work rights and certification management.
- Leave administration.
- Supporting recruitment and people processes.
- Business Operations:
- Insurance management.
- Licence renewals.
- Compliance registers.
- Supplier documentation.
- Business systems administration.
- Operational reporting and administrative support.
- Supporting continuous improvement across the business.
About You:
You are highly organised, proactive, and genuinely enjoy bringing order to busy environments. You enjoy building systems, solving problems before they arise, and creating the structure that allows great businesses to thrive. You are equally comfortable reviewing payroll, preparing employment contracts, or improving operational processes.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in business operations, finance administration, HR administration, or hospitality operations.
- Strong financial administration skills with experience using Xero or similar accounting software.
- Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and employee administration.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and exceptional accuracy.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence working independently while supporting a fast-paced leadership team.
- Previous hospitality experience will be highly regarded.
