As the C4I Designer at Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering integrated command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence solutions for Defence shipbuilding platforms. This role encompasses the entire system lifecycle, focusing on the seamless integration of advanced capabilities. You will collaborate closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and their integration partners to achieve unified, mission-ready outcomes.

What is Involved
- Assisting the C4I Engineer with assigned tasks.
- Developing expertise and experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on designated equipment and systems.
- Creating, updating, and reviewing C4I integration documentation. This includes coordinating with Fitout designers for space integration, Electrical teams for power and network integration, Mechanical teams for cooling and services, and Structural teams for mounting and load considerations.
- Reviewing subcontract offers, scopes, and subcontract document requirement lists, with assistance from the C4I Engineer as needed.
- Performing 3D CAD modelling and adjustments, along with creating associated drawings.
- Drafting 2D CAD schematics/diagrams, arrangements, and details.
- Providing support to Production during installation, build, and Sea Trial Work (STW).
- Supporting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities during testing and acceptance.
- Reporting on Earned Value Management to indicate design, documentation, and physical completion status.
Requirements
- Over 3 years of experience in Electrical design or systems integration.
- Over 3 years of experience in drafting or modelling Electrical design and integration, with experience in the C4I space and defence shipbuilding being desirable.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting and modelling.
- Experience managing bills of materials and lists within Excel and databases.
- Experience in technical specification writing.
- Experience in Electrical equipment design and integration.
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance is required.
