About the Role Due to significant growth, Performance Suspension is seeking a 3D CAD Draftsman to join our established design and engineering team. This role serves as a critical link between initial concepts and final production. Responsibilities include expanding on existing designs, developing new products, and refining manufacturing processes. This is a dynamic position involving a balance of precise 3D modelling and direct engagement with fabrication and workshop teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise Autodesk Inventor to design, model, and produce detailed 3D drawings for new and existing 4x4 components.
• Generate highly accurate manufacturing drawings suitable for Machining, Brakepress, Fabrication, and Sheet Metal operations.
• Create detailed Packing Lists and other essential internal production documentation.
• Provide assistance in the workshop with the physical test fitting of prototype parts onto vehicles.
• Draft, write, and refine comprehensive Product Fitting Guides for end-users and mechanics.
• Collaborate with the broader design and production teams to optimise manufacturing processes.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical Expertise: Competent 3D CAD skills, with a specific emphasis on Autodesk Inventor. Extensive 3D Model Design and 3D Sketch CAD experience is essential.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Hands-on experience or a strong working knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes is highly desirable.
• Automotive Passion: A genuine interest in the 4x4 and aftermarket automotive industry will be advantageous.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated accuracy and a meticulous approach to producing detailed drawings.
• Work Ethic: Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and able to perform effectively under pressure and within tight timeframes.
• Communication: Solid written and verbal communication skills for liaising with fabrication teams and authoring fitting guides.
• Practical Approach: A willingness to engage hands-on and adopt a practical, problem-solving mindset towards design.
