About Us The Sisters of the Good Samaritan are a religious group within the Catholic Church dedicated to seeking God and acting as neighbours. As the first religious Congregation founded in Australia, we have been responding to this call for over 160 years through seeking God, serving others, and communal living.

About the Role This is an opportunity for an experienced Care Support Worker to join our community-based Health and Wellbeing Team. We are a team of nurses and carers who provide support to the Sisters of the Good Samaritan in independent living, community, and aged care settings.

The primary function of the Care Support Worker is to provide physical, social, companioning, and care support to Congregation members (Sisters). As part of the Health and Wellbeing team, you will assist each Sister to engage in the life and mission of the Congregation.

This role offers variety, collegial support, and professional development within a welcoming environment focused on the health and wellbeing of our people, including the Sisters and staff. We maintain a positive culture and a values-based approach to our work.

We provide comprehensive induction, peer support, wages above award rates, and the chance to collaborate with dedicated health professionals.

About You Experience in providing care, support, and coordination within an aged care or community setting is vital for this position.

Key requirements include:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Community Health, Aged Care, or Pastoral Care.
  • Certificate 3 in Aged Care or equivalent.
  • First Aid Certificate Level 2.
  • An appreciation for and commitment to supporting the life, mission, and spirituality of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan.
  • A personal desire to support elderly people in living valued and meaningful lives.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • The ability to deliver care and support, in consultation with the Registered Nurse, to meet each Sister's requirements.

The successful candidate must also possess:

  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Access to a fully insured and maintained motor vehicle suitable for transporting aged persons on occasions.
