Casual Community Care Worker (WHD4)

Eyre and Far North Local Health Network, Country Health Connect, is seeking Casual Community Care Workers for positions in Port Lincoln and Lower Eyre. These roles are available until 30 June 2027.

About the Role Within the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network's innovative Consumer Directed Care model, you will provide personalised support to individuals who are aged, frail, or living with a disability. The aim is to assist them in maintaining their independence within their homes or Residential Aged Care facilities.

This role involves delivering essential services such as personal care, meal preparation, cleaning, transportation, and social support. You will collaborate with consumers, their families, and health professionals, facilitating consumer decisions about their care while ensuring high-quality and compassionate outcomes. Success in this position requires flexibility, empathy, and the capacity to work autonomously. Ongoing training and development opportunities are available to support skill enhancement and the delivery of high standards of care.

Key Criteria

  • Experience in providing direct care services within a health-related field.
  • Experience working with aged, frail, or disabled individuals.
  • Ability to implement detailed care plans and follow instructions.
  • To be appointed at the WHD4 level, completion of Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community) is required.

Tasks may include:

  • Personal care, including showering, toileting, grooming, and continence management.
  • Household tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and minor gardening.
  • Social support, including transport assistance, shopping support, and mobility assistance.
  • Assisting with self-medication under clinical supervision.
  • Working autonomously while collaborating with consumers, families, and health professionals.
  • At the WHD4 level, providing personal care and support to clients with complex care needs.
