Certification Lead Engineer

Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking a Certification Lead Engineer to guide the engineering certification efforts for a leading Australian unmanned aerospace capability.
In this leadership position, you will direct a multidisciplinary team overseeing airworthiness, certification, system safety, and design assurance functions. You will collaborate closely with Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure the safe, compliant, and effective implementation of design modifications, repairs, and engineering solutions. This role involves managing four direct reports and fostering the development of a high-performing team of engineering specialists.
About You:
- An engineering degree and substantial experience within the Defence or aerospace sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership of technical or engineering teams.
- Experience with aviation certification, modification, and repair processes.
- A strong understanding of airworthiness and system safety principles.
- Familiarity with DASR requirements.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and communication.
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a TSPV security clearance is mandatory.
- Existing TSPV, Baseline, NV1, or NV2 security clearances will be highly regarded.
- Australian Citizenship is required due to Defence security clearance requirements.
- Nationality may be a factor due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Successful completion of police checks and employment screening verification.
