Amey Australia is seeking a Civil Designer to join their team in Rockhampton. This is a full-time, onsite position.

This opportunity is for a Civil Designer who values project ownership from inception through to completion, offering genuine responsibility. Located in our Rockhampton office, you will engage with a variety of projects as part of a cohesive team that prioritises quality, accountability, and tangible results. About the Role Your responsibilities will include generating civil designs and associated documentation essential for project execution. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager, Project Managers, and Senior Designers, with daily tasks involving design, drafting, and coordination of project information.

In this hands-on capacity, you will:

• Prepare detailed design drawings, conduct calculations, and produce necessary documentation.
• Utilise software such as 12d and AutoCAD to ensure designs are accurate and compliant.
• Engage with councils, authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee and maintain project documentation and drawing registers.
• Contribute to project timelines through efficient work practices and early identification of risks.
• Offer guidance to Cadet Designers and Drafters within the team.

What You’ll Need

• Approximately 3+ years of experience in civil design or drafting.
• Practical experience with AutoCAD and 12d Model.
• A solid understanding of engineering design principles, relevant standards, and approval processes.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
• A keen attention to detail and a sense of ownership over your work.

Nice to Have

• An associate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience liaising with local councils or state authorities.

Beyond technical proficiencies, your capacity to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and maintain a proactive approach when faced with challenges is equally important.
