Civil Engineer – Rockhampton
Amey Australia is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing office in Rockhampton. This full-time, onsite position offers a strong opportunity for an individual who enjoys hands-on involvement in design, project management, and delivery. You will contribute to a steady pipeline of infrastructure and development projects within a supportive team environment, backed by experienced leadership.
About the Role
This is a varied position encompassing the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to project completion. Your daily activities will involve a balance of technical design tasks and project coordination responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and provide support to the General Manager regarding project visibility and planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing designs, drawings, and engineering reports.
- Contributing to development applications and construction documentation.
- Assisting with project management activities.
- Coordinating with clients, councils, and contractors to ensure project progression and timely issue resolution.
This role is suited for an individual comfortable managing multiple priorities and who enjoys working on both the technical and organisational aspects of engineering projects.
What We’re Looking For
Must have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience as a Civil Engineer within a consulting environment.
- Solid design capability for civil projects, including proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD and 12d.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with clients and stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to project or design management responsibilities.
- Experience with software such as Drains, MUSIC, or HEC-RAS.
- Approximately 3+ years of consulting experience.
- Industry memberships or progress towards professional accreditation.
