Commercial Analyst Dragonfly West End full-time, hybrid

Dragonfly is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Analyst to join our team in West End. This role offers a valuable opportunity to make a significant impact at a growing company, enhance our finance team, and influence the future of our workflows.

Dragonfly is redefining e-commerce delivery in Australia. Building on over three decades of market leadership in Canada, Dragonfly is a new subsidiary that is operating with efficiency and innovation. We leverage the latest technologies and skilled personnel to achieve greater efficiencies, better results, and a superior customer experience. At Dragonfly, we focus on the details that make a difference. We operate in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on market growth. Our agile working environment embraces challenges, and every team member is dedicated to ensuring on-time deliveries across Australia.

As the Commercial Analyst, you will be a pivotal member of the Finance team, providing vital financial and commercial analysis to support pricing, profitability, and operational decision-making. Through strong cross-functional collaboration with the broader Finance, Operations, and Contractor Management teams, you will help identify performance trends, assess risks, and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining analytical models, preparing regular performance reports, and delivering clear insights and recommendations to business leaders. You will ensure the accuracy of financial models and reporting, conduct variance analysis, and provide actionable analysis on customer, route, and regional profitability. This role also contributes to key strategic initiatives, including network performance, productivity, and investment decisions. By translating complex data into meaningful business insights, you will play a crucial role in driving informed, data-backed decisions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver commercial and financial analysis to support pricing, profitability, and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, including insights on revenue, costs, margins, and key operational metrics.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models and reporting tools to support business planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial and profitability models for commercial reviews and business cases.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key drivers, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Translate complex operational and financial data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of customer, route, and regional profitability to inform pricing, service, and operational strategies.
  • Identify and quantify opportunities for cost savings, productivity enhancements, and revenue growth, presenting recommendations to leadership.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modelling processes with timely and reliable analysis.
  • Contribute analytical support and recommendations for strategic initiatives, operational changes, and investment decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in Commercial Analysis, FP&A, or similar analytical roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA) – completed or in progress (preferred, not essential).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills using Power BI (SQL and Co-Pilot skills preferred).
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving ability to support management decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Commercial/Sales, and Strategy teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI for analysis and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at turning data into actionable insights.

Why Join Dragonfly?

  • Be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.
  • Benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement that supports work-life balance.
  • Make a tangible impact on the future of our operation and business growth.
  • Access genuine growth and development opportunities as the business continues to expand across Australia and Canada.
  • Join a fast-paced, high-impact company where you can help shape the future and grow your career.
