Commercial Analyst – Foods

This role supports commercial decision-making within Hewitt’s foods portfolio through clear analysis and financial modelling. You will collaborate with senior leadership to support financial forecasting, utilising operational and market data to generate insights that inform planning, pricing, and investment decisions. Your work will contribute to driving performance, shaping strategy, and supporting the continued growth of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse food portfolio performance to identify key drivers across pricing, margin, and customer performance.
- Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support accurate budgets, forecasts, long-range planning, and investment decisions.
- Analyse and understand actual versus budget performance, unlocking insights for the business.
- Support the evaluation of acquisitions, expansion opportunities, and capital projects through appropriate modelling and commercial analysis.
About You
You are a commercially minded analyst with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights. You are comfortable working across finance, operations, and strategy, and you enjoy supporting cross-functional decision-making and engaging with senior stakeholders. An interest in data-driven decision-making, coupled with a genuine desire to embed yourself into the business, will help you quickly build an understanding of the portfolio and its key drivers.
You will bring:
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, particularly in Excel, including forecasting and scenario analysis. Experience with Power BI or similar would be advantageous.
- Experience in a commercial, financial, or analytical role where insights inform real business decisions.
- Ability to interpret operational and financial data and communicate key drivers clearly to stakeholders.
- Sound commercial judgement and the ability to test assumptions and evaluate trade-offs.
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
