Community Support Assistant - Brisbane North

Alzheimer’s Association of Queensland (AQ) is a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to assisting older Australians to maintain independent, safe, and dignified lives within their homes and communities. We are looking for enthusiastic Community Support Assistants to join our community care team on a casual basis, serving the Brisbane North area.

This position involves providing support to aged care clients aged 65 and over in their own residences. You will deliver services with a distinct focus on person-centred care, playing a significant part in facilitating clients' continued community engagement, independence, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care and support with daily living activities.
  • Assist with social engagement and community access.
  • Prepare meals and undertake light domestic duties.
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or Community Care is essential.
  • Previous experience supporting older individuals in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the capacity to work independently.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Availability to commit to approximately 20 hours per week.
  • A current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • A current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • A smart phone.
  • A National Police Certificate or a willingness to obtain one.

Salary & Benefits

  • $45.74 per hour, plus superannuation.
  • Reimbursement for travel between client visits.
