Community Support Assistant - Malvern

VMCH is seeking a casual onsite Community Support Assistant to join our team in St Kilda.

This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others daily, providing meaningful work with flexible hours within a trusted care team that delivers compassion at home.

About the Role In this rewarding position, you will provide personalised, person-centred care designed to empower clients to maintain their independence and achieve their best quality of life.

  • Flexible casual hours
  • Availability is required for at least three weekdays between 7am and 6pm
  • You will support clients in Malvern, St Kilda, Prahan, and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Provide companionship and social support.
  • Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks.
  • Transport clients to appointments and outings.

About You You possess a genuine passion for supporting older members of the community and take pride in creating meaningful, positive daily experiences for them. With strong communication skills, you are adept at building trusting relationships and supporting clients to maintain their independence and achieve their personal goals.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community, or Disability) or an equivalent qualification.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured (comprehensive), registered vehicle for travel between client homes.
  • A willingness to obtain a First Aid certificate, CPR certification, and a Police check.
  • Genuine respect for the dignity and independence of older people.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a community setting.
  • Availability across a flexible casual roster, including some early mornings.
