Community Support Worker

VMCH is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team in Berwick. This is a casual, onsite role.

About the Role This position offers the opportunity to deliver personalised, person-centred care, empowering clients to maintain their independence and achieve their desired quality of life.

  • Flexible casual hours are available.
  • Availability is required for at least three weekdays between 7am and 6pm.
  • Support will be provided to clients in Berwick, Narre Warren, and Cranbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Provide companionship and social support.
  • Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks.
  • Transport clients to appointments and outings.

About You: You possess a genuine desire to support older members of the community and take satisfaction in creating positive daily experiences for them. Your strong communication skills enable you to build trusting relationships, supporting clients to sustain their independence and reach their personal objectives.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community, or Disability) or an equivalent qualification.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured (comprehensive), registered vehicle for travel between client homes.
  • Willingness to obtain a First Aid certificate, CPR certification, and a Police check.
  • Genuine respect for the dignity and independence of older people.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously within a community setting.
  • Availability across a flexible casual roster, including some early mornings.
