Community Support Worker

VMCH is seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team in Doncaster. This is a casual, onsite position.

Make a tangible impact on individuals' lives daily through flexible hours, meaningful engagement, and by supporting your local community as part of a trusted care team delivering compassionate in-home support.

About the Role In this fulfilling capacity, you will provide personalised, person-centred care designed to foster client independence and enhance their quality of life.

  • Flexible casual hours are available.
  • Availability is required for a minimum of three weekdays between 7am and 6pm.
  • Support will be provided to clients within Doncaster and its surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Offer companionship and social support.
  • Aid with meal preparation and light household tasks.
  • Transport clients to appointments and community outings.

About You You possess a genuine dedication to supporting older community members and derive satisfaction from creating positive daily experiences for them. Your strong communication skills enable you to build trusting relationships, empowering clients to maintain their independence and pursue their personal objectives.

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community, or Disability) or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured (comprehensive), registered vehicle for travel between client homes are essential.
  • You demonstrate genuine respect for the dignity and independence of older individuals.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the capacity to work autonomously within a community setting are necessary.
  • Availability across a flexible casual roster, including some early mornings, is required.
