Community Support Worker – St Kilda

VMCH is seeking a Community Support Worker to join their team in St Kilda. This is a casual, onsite role.

About the Opportunity This role involves providing personalised, person-centred care to empower clients to live independently and maintain the highest possible quality of life.

  • Flexible casual hours
  • Availability required for at least three weekdays between 7am–6pm
  • Support will be provided to clients in Malvern, St Kilda, Prahan, and surrounding areas.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Providing companionship and social support.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and light household tasks.
  • Transporting clients to appointments and outings.

About You You possess a genuine passion for supporting older members of the community and take satisfaction in creating meaningful, positive daily experiences for them. With strong communication skills, you build trusting relationships and support clients in maintaining their independence and achieving their personal goals.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community, or Disability) or an equivalent qualification.
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured (comprehensive) registered vehicle for travel between client homes.
  • Genuine respect for the dignity and independence of older people.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a community setting.
  • Availability across a flexible casual roster, including some early mornings.
