Control Automation Engineer

Job Summary
The Control Automation Engineer is tasked with the successful execution of control projects, providing prompt control estimations, preparing quotations, and supporting both Service Sales and Product Sales teams. This role includes project management of control automation initiatives, offering technical assistance to technicians, aiding service sales engineers with control service agreement estimations, and managing and generating reports for connected services. The objective is to ensure efficient and accurate order processing, maintain high customer satisfaction levels, and contribute to the sales team's target achievement.
Responsibilities
- Control Project Management and Fulfilment:
- Monitor project progression to ensure successful completion.
- Oversee all controls automation and connected services within the designated sales region.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for timely delivery and installation of control systems.
- Prepare and provide all necessary documentation, including control functional descriptions, drawings, and operational manuals, as required by customers, sales, and service teams.
- Program and commission controls for projects.
- Resolve installation and/or operational issues.
- Pre-Sales Engineering Support:
- Deliver timely and accurate control estimations to support Service Sales and Product Sales teams. Quotations will detail specifications (if applicable).
- Prepare and manage estimation templates for controls projects, cooling and heating plant managers, booster heating systems, airside equipment, connected services, and remote monitoring installations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and customise quotations.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to technicians, assisting with troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of repair quotations, as needed.
- Act as a technical resource for sales and service teams, offering expertise and guidance.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries regarding control projects.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer queries via phone, email, or chat.
- Resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all processes and procedures adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
- Connected Services Management and Reporting:
- Manage digitally connected services, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Assist technicians with the installation and commissioning of digital connected services.
- Generate detailed reports on connected services performance, usage, and issues.
- Analyse connected services data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and potential issues.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status and performance of connected services.
- General:
- Act as a proactive member of an ANZ regional controls automation team, sharing ideas and best practices, and offering assistance and guidance to other team members.
- Participate in team meetings, calls, and internal online communications.

Qualifications
- Great interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience in the relevant industry.
- Trade Qualified in a relevant trade.
- Thorough understanding of HSE industry requirements.
- Applied knowledge of BMS engineering principles and energy conservation measures.
- Hands-on experience with building management systems.
- Technical knowledge within an HVAC and Central Plant or Energy Solutions environment.
- High level of technical competency in BMS and related control products/devices. Experience with Tridium / Trend / Tracer is ideal, though not essential. Experience with Tracer or Trend software is preferred.
