This full-time, onsite role is based in our Newcastle office. Opportunities for growth are also available in our Brisbane, Melbourne, Devonport, Sydney, and Adelaide offices.

The Role:
Reporting to the Lead Engineer – Automation, this full-time Control Systems Engineer role involves project collaboration from initial requirements through to commissioning and handover. We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working closely with clients to define technical requirements, deliver robust PLC/SCADA solutions, and act as a trusted problem-solver on complex projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with clients and internal stakeholders to define scope and technical requirements.
- Control system design, development, and implementation to meet safety, quality, and performance expectations.
- Solving complex engineering challenges using strong technical judgement.
- Producing high-quality documentation and client-ready deliverables.
- Planning and contributing to commissioning activities, including site work which may require travel.
- Mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and contributing to continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Electrical Trade or Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls, or related discipline).
- 3-5 years' experience in industrial automation/control systems with commissioning exposure.
- Practical PLC/RTU programming experience (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider).
- End-to-end delivery of SCADA/HMI solutions (e.g. Ignition, AVEVA, FactoryTalk, WinCC).
- Integration experience with typical industrial systems (e.g. drives, instrumentation, PID loops, safety interfaces, OT networking devices).
