Corporate Accountant

Gordian Partners is seeking a full-time Corporate Accountant for their Brisbane QLD operations. This is a remote position.

An established mining company with a long-life operation in Queensland, known for its strong reputation in the resources sector and high-quality export product for international markets, is looking to expand its team. The business is committed to sustainable growth and fosters a collaborative, high-performing culture. Finance is integral to the business, offering exposure beyond traditional financial reporting.

This role, based in Brisbane CBD, presents an opportunity to engage in both technical accounting and management reporting, serving as a valuable progression for ambitious accountants aiming to expand their commercial experience. Whether you possess prior mining industry experience or are seeking to enter the resources sector, this position offers insight into a complex, commercially driven business with authentic long-term career prospects.

The Role

Reporting to senior finance leadership, your duties will encompass:

• Preparation of statutory financial statements and technical accounting papers
• Month-end and year-end reporting
• Preparation of board and management reports
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
• Supporting the external audit process and compliance requirements
• Assisting with process improvement initiatives within the finance function
• Partnering with business stakeholders to provide commercial insights and support strategic decision-making

About You

You will be CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion, and possess:

• Experience in financial and management reporting
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders

Previous experience within the mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors will be highly regarded. However, applications from accountants in public practice or commercial backgrounds seeking to build a career in the mining industry are also welcome.
