Cost Controller
Austral Construction Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join their Perth Team. This full-time, onsite role will contribute to a significant pipeline of civil and marine works across Western Australia, with a focus on projects in the Pilbara region.

The Opportunity This role is integral to project success, requiring close collaboration with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and construction personnel. You will leverage your cost control skills to manage project finances effectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining detailed and accurate cost control systems for labour, plant, subcontractors, materials, and overheads.
- Progressing, analysing, and managing project costs in accordance with the agreed budget and resources.
- Validating and tracking variations, claims, and approved changes.
- Providing early warnings regarding budget overruns, cost risks, and performance issues.
- Preparing weekly and monthly project cost reports, dashboards, and performance summaries.
- Supporting audits, cost reviews, and ensuring compliance with company financial procedures.
- Ensuring alignment of cost data across site reporting, project schedules, procurement systems, and finance.
- Monitoring the monetary progress of projects to ensure expenditures are captured and recorded correctly.
- Attending and auditing project sites to ensure cost control procedures are applied.
Position Requirements
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in civil construction projects (roads, earthworks, structures, utilities, mining, or marine).
- Ability to communicate complex cost information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Team player mindset with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse large datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
- Competence in using software such as MS Project, P6, and Pronto.
