Eaton Electrical Australia P/L is seeking a full-time, onsite Data Centre Solution Consultant to join our team in Mascot.

This role is integral to our growth initiative, requiring you to provide technical leadership and advisory support to sales teams, consultants, and end customers throughout the pre-sales phase. You will drive early engagement, conceptual solution development, and thought leadership in data centre power systems, establishing Eaton as a trusted advisor.

The position acts as a liaison between Sales, Engineering, and Bid teams, translating customer requirements into technically sound, commercially viable, and innovative solutions to improve win rates and strengthen Eaton's market standing in the data centre sector.

Key Duties:

• Deliver technical expertise on data centre power infrastructure solutions to sales, consultants, developers, and end users.
• Develop conceptual designs, system architectures, and solution strategies that align with customer requirements.
• Create high-level designs encompassing UPS and DC backup power, MV/LV distribution and switchgear, power monitoring, and integrated solutions.
• Identify opportunities for optimisation, balancing performance, cost, scalability, and sustainability.
• Cultivate a thorough understanding of Eaton’s complete portfolio, including core and adjacent offerings, to identify avenues for expanding value within the data centre segment.
• Drive market share by increasing Eaton’s involvement in data centre projects through portfolio-led solution positioning.
• Proactively identify and promote non-traditional or emerging solutions (e.g., modular, prefabricated, containment, integrated systems like ARCON-type solutions) to meet evolving customer needs.
• Translate Eaton’s capabilities into integrated, end-to-end solution architectures that extend beyond individual product lines.
• Conduct industry education sessions, including lunch-and-learn events, seminars, and workshops.
• Serve as a technical conduit between Sales and Bid/Proposal teams.
• Provide guidance to ensure technical consistency and differentiation in proposals.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical infrastructure, with a preference for data centres, critical power, or similar sectors.
• Strong knowledge of data centre power systems, including UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, and Building Management Systems.
• Understanding of relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEC, Tier classifications, etc.).
• Familiarity with integrated or modular (prefabricated) data centre solutions is advantageous.
• Experience in pre-sales, solution design, or consulting roles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions.
• Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
