Disability Support Worker – NDIS

Company: Talent Hub Australia Location: Ipswich Salary: $38 – $45 per hour Work Type: Casual On-site/Remote: On-site

Talent Hub Australia is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to deliver 1:1 support for an individual with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) who is transitioning towards independent living. This role operates within a 24/7 support model, encompassing day shifts and inactive sleepover shifts. An immediate commencement is available.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support an individual who is:

  • Transitioning to independent living.
  • Working towards enhanced community access and participation.
  • Independent with mobility, though with reduced endurance.
  • Requiring prompting, supervision, and structured support.
  • Presenting with challenges in emotional regulation and complex behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 daily living support.
  • Assist with the transition to independent living.
  • Offer community access support.
  • Deliver behavioural support using positive and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Provide prompting, supervision, and routine support.
  • Maintain professional documentation and incident reporting.
  • Collaborate with guardians and stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
  • Experience managing complex behaviours and emotional regulation.
  • Experience in high-intensity or complex care environments.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks.
  • Ability to remain calm, structured, and consistent under pressure.
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills.
  • Experience in 24/7 roster environments is preferred.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, or a related field.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to commit to rostered day and sleepover shifts.
