Disability Support Worker RedDoor Community Services Mount Isa

RedDoor Community Services is seeking reliable and practical Support Workers to deliver person-centred supports to individuals with disability within their homes and the community. This is a hands-on role focused on assisting with daily living, fostering independence, and supporting participants to achieve their goals as outlined in their NDIS plans.

About the Role This position involves supporting participants with everyday activities, including personal care, domestic tasks, meal preparation, community access, and transport. You will adhere to support plans, maintain professional boundaries, and operate in a manner that consistently upholds choice, dignity, and safety.

You will be expected to work autonomously, manage your time effectively, and accurately complete basic reporting. RedDoor Community Services is committed to providing high-quality support, which includes a policy against the use of personal devices during shifts. Support Workers are expected to deliver a high standard of care and complete internal training. Our Mount Isa team is small and collaborative; we are looking for individuals who are kind and considerate towards both clients and fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily living and personal supports as required.
• Support community participation and social activities.
• Adhere to individual support plans and organisational policies.
• Maintain accurate case notes and incident reports.
• Promote participant safety, choice, and independence.
• Communicate clearly with participants, families, and team members.
• Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) and NDIS Code of Conduct requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting people with disability or in similar care roles.
• An understanding of person-centred practice.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or a willingness to obtain one.
• Blue Card (QLD) or a willingness to obtain one.
• First Aid and CPR certification or a willingness to obtain them.
• A driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle.

Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (note: this qualification is not considered to inherently make individuals better support workers).
• Experience with complex needs or behaviours of concern.

Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year.
