Disability Support Worker – Varied Client Work + Onsite Shared Support

QSSS Pty Ltd is seeking Disability Support Workers for casual onsite roles in Chermside, North Brisbane. This position involves supporting a variety of clients with diverse needs, as well as providing onsite shared support.

Potential Support Hours:

Support workers are sought for some or all of the following hours, which are potential support hours in the Northside of Brisbane and may be subject to change based on client choice and roster alignment with the SCHADS Award.

  • Monday (varied shifts)
  • 8:30am–2:30pm (In-Home, Manual Handling and BT: Enoggera)
  • 10am - 1pm (In-Home: Bray Park)
  • 5:30pm - 8:30pm (In Home psychosocial support: Everton Park)
  • Wednesday (varied shifts)
  • 7:00am–4:00pm (Onsite Shared Support: Nundah)
  • 9:30am – 12:30pm (Community Access: Northgate)
  • 11:00am–2:00pm (Community Access, LGBTQI Friendly: New Farm)
  • 5:30pm – 8:30pm (In Home psychosocial support: Everton Park)
  • Thursday
  • 6:30am–10:30am (In-Home, Manual Handling, LGBTQI Friendly: Wooloowin)
  • Friday
  • 9:00am–11:00am (Community Access: Northgate)
  • 5:30pm–8:00pm (In Home psychosocial support: Everton Park)
  • Saturday
  • 9:30am–1:30pm (Community Access: Northgate)
  • 4:00pm - 8:00am (Onsite Shared Support: Nundah)

Mandatory Skills / Qualifications:

  • Manual Handling including floor / ceiling hoists and slide sheets
  • Basic Bowel Therapy (minimum enema administration)
  • CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to commit to most / all of the hours above
  • Willingness to meet new clients and accept shifts when colleagues are sick

Remuneration:

Above Fair Work Award rates: $37.35 weekday, $40.11 evening, $41.20 night, Saturday $50.96, Sunday $65.59 public holidays $80.01, sleepover allowance $62.87.

About the Role:

QSSS is seeking a high-calibre Disability Support Worker to join our North Brisbane team. This role combines individual client support with onsite shared support, requiring professionalism, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. You will be confident supporting a diverse range of clients with varying needs, personalities, routines, and goals.

The role involves introducing you to clients to become part of their individual Support Worker Team. Client choice determines roster inclusion. You will be introduced, and it is up to you to present yourself as the best person for their unique needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering unplanned and infrequent support for clients with different abilities, meeting a variety of needs as they arise.
  • Stepping in when regular supports are unavailable to ensure continuous, high-quality assistance.
  • Experiencing a role where every shift offers new opportunities to help and connect.

Availability across various days is required, and comfort in supporting urgent shifts as they arise is expected.
