Ryan Bros Building, a growing boutique builder recognised for its service, quality, and care, is seeking a Draftsperson to join their close-knit team. Headquartered in Ballarat, the company constructs homes across the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast, The Otways, and Ballarat. They specialise in combining stock home designs with unique, custom builds, always prioritising quality and innovation.

The Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position will initially involve a split focus between estimating and drafting, with clear opportunities for expanded responsibilities as the business grows. Key duties include:

• Developing stock plans and facades.
• Preparing plans for permit applications.
• Liaising with the planning consultant.
• Contributing creative ideas to designs, aligning with the company's ethos.

This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Draftsperson looking to progress beyond drafting, or for an individual new to the field seeking a varied career within the construction industry. You will work closely with the Construction Manager and business owners, gaining significant visibility across the business. Direct customer engagement to provide support throughout the build will also be a component of the role.

Flexible working arrangements are available, including full-time or part-time (school hours) with adaptable start and finish times, Monday to Friday.

Duties

• Estimate and draft plans for both stock and custom home designs.
• Develop facades and designs with your own creative flair.
• Prepare plans for permit applications and liaise with the planning consultant.
• Prepare invoicing as required.
• Manage day-to-day drafting tasks using Build Exact software.
• Support and engage with customers.

Skills & Experience

• Experience working as a Draftsperson in residential construction.
• Good IT skills, with confidence in learning new software.
• Experience with Build Exact (or similar drafting/estimating software) is well regarded but not essential.
• Ability to provide thoughtful and professional customer service.
• A creative eye and genuine interest in design.
