E7 International - Technical Publications - Aircraft Structures SME

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team. This permanent, full-time, hybrid role offers an annual bonus and is located in Newcastle.

This opportunity is ideal for an Aircraft Structures technician seeking to transition from hands-on maintenance or a technical officer looking for a career evolution. The position allows you to leverage your extensive technical expertise in a new capacity, supporting the E-7A Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft program. Initially, the role will focus on technical publication development for the United States Airforce customer, with potential to extend to other international programs. The position offers flexibility in location, with options to be based in Brisbane, Adelaide, or Williamtown.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake critical and routine technical publication revision tasks for AEW&C customers.
  • Communicate clear instructions for the incorporation of technical publication tasks to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with AEW&C Coordinators and Execution Leads to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks for project revision deliveries.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) or a related qualification.
  • Experience in the maintenance and/or operations of Boeing 737 or AEW&C aircraft would be highly regarded.
  • The ability to evaluate technical source data and specifications.
  • Experience in authoring technical publications.
  • The capacity to communicate with technical personnel across multiple skill areas and functions to assess technical information and issues affecting the design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • The ability to analyse problems (including troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development, and modification of company products, utilising knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.
  • Current Australian Citizenship is required to meet Defence security requirements.
  • Technical knowledge of military systems.
