Job Description

Electrical Engineers - Avid Holding Pty Ltd

Avid Holding Pty Ltd is seeking Electrical Engineers to join our team at our integrated engineering and manufacturing facility in Kewdale. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Avid Group is a privately owned, evolving business that is agile and integrated. We combine engineering, electrical, fabrication, fit-out, and project delivery to create solutions that others cannot. We are building the future of sustainable infrastructure through our work on switchboards, modular switch rooms, and energy systems.

The Opportunities Unlike traditional consulting roles, you will work hands-on with our fabrication, electrical manufacturing, and fit-out teams. This allows you to witness your designs progress from concept through to completion, solving real engineering challenges in real time, influencing outcomes, and seeing the impact of your work daily.

These roles involve working within our team of electrical and structural engineers, liaising with our projects, structural fabrication, electrical manufacturing, and fit-out teams. These positions will suit individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project team environment, enjoy solving engineering challenges, and ensure compliance with industry standards through analysis, testing, and innovation. You will provide practical, impactful solutions, ensuring our teams have the clarity needed to produce high-quality work.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, delivery, and technical support of electrical systems across a range of projects. Based at our Kewdale site, you will experience the full lifecycle of your designs, from conception to completion and operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Perform electrical calculations, load studies, and engineering analysis.
  • Support design, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Electrical Designers and junior engineering team members.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a same or similar role, ideally with an electrical manufacturing or industrial electrical background.
  • Extensive experience with switchboards, switch-rooms, modular, and containerised infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (RPEng/CPEng advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, modular, or energy sector electrical design.
  • Solid understanding of AS3000, AS61439, AS/NZS 3439, and NCC compliance.
  • Strong technical experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools.
  • Experience overseeing FAT and SAT testing.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and power distribution.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality documentation and project outcomes under tight timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working in a collaborative, high-performance team.

Desirable:

  • Chartered or working toward status with Engineers Australia.
  • Experience with ETAP, PowerFactory, AutoCAD, or similar tools.

Why join us?

  • See your engineering solutions manufactured on-site and commissioned into live operation.
  • Work alongside structural, fabrication, manufacturing, and project delivery teams under one roof.
  • Influence projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression into Senior or Lead Engineering roles.
  • Join an evolving Australian business investing in engineering capability and innovation.
  • Competitive salary and long-term career stability.
