About the Role

As an Employment Pathways Coach, you will be instrumental in supporting and empowering individuals to develop the skills, confidence, and experience necessary to achieve their employment aspirations. Working with participants accessing NDIS employment supports, you will deliver person-centred support to assist individuals in preparing for and securing employment.

You will collaborate with each participant to create and implement an individualised employment pathway, tailored to their strengths, interests, and personal goals. This may involve assisting participants with setting employment goals, enhancing social and community participation skills, developing workplace readiness, accessing work experience opportunities, and identifying further education or training pathways.

Building strong connections with employers, education providers, and community organisations will be key to creating employment opportunities and facilitating successful transitions from education to employment. Your capacity for advocacy, collaboration, and fostering community connections will be essential in enabling participants to achieve positive employment outcomes.

This is a full-time position that is worked from home, with regular travel within the community to support participant appointments, community engagement activities, and visits to training providers and workplaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to Participants in alignment with their support needs, preferences, individual Employment Pathways Plans, and funding.
  • Actively support Participants to enhance their work readiness through capacity building, skill acquisition, work experience, and supported decision-making.
  • Identify other challenges that may be impacting a participant’s ability to aspire to or undertake work, such as health, mental health, allied health, or housing instability.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture while delivering high-quality services to participants.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV in a relevant Social & Community Services qualification.
  • A current Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated case management experience working with young people with disability.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing relationships and opportunities through community engagement and partnerships.
  • Proficient ability in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs and database systems, or the ability to become competent quickly in database systems.

Successful candidates will be required to complete probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS clearance, and a Working with Children Check where relevant to the role.
