Employment Support Officer – Best Life Disability Services PTY LTD

Location: Virginia, SA 5120 Work Type: Casual Work Setting: Onsite

Best Life Disability Services PTY LTD is seeking a dedicated Employment Support Officer to join our team on a casual, onsite basis in Virginia. This is a vital role within our Disability Support services, fundamental to our mission of empowering people with disabilities to participate actively in their communities and the workforce. You will play a key role in assisting individuals with disabilities to develop employment skills, secure meaningful work, and achieve greater independence and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised employment support and guidance to clients with disabilities, assisting them in identifying their skills, strengths, and employment goals.
  • Develop and implement personalised employment plans tailored to each client's capabilities, aspirations, and support needs.
  • Conduct job searches and identify suitable employment opportunities that align with clients' abilities and interests.
  • Prepare clients for employment through skills training, interview coaching, and workplace readiness support.
  • Liaise with employers to advocate for clients, negotiate workplace adjustments, and facilitate successful job placements.
  • Provide ongoing workplace support and mentoring to help clients maintain employment and progress in their roles.
  • Monitor client progress towards employment goals and adjust support strategies as required.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, other service providers, and community organisations to support holistic client outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Genuine passion and commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals and aspirations.
  • Relevant qualifications in disability services, social work, employment services, counselling, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong understanding of disability support frameworks, employment legislation, and workplace rights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse client groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in employment support, job coaching, case management, or similar client-focused roles.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A valid Working with Children Check and relevant background screening clearances.
  • Current driver's licence and reliable access to transport, as the role may require travel to client locations.
  • Flexibility to work casual hours, including potential early mornings, late afternoons, or weekend shifts as required.
  • Lived experience of disability, mental health, or other relevant challenges is valued but not essential.
