About the Role: This position involves providing person-centred employment support to supported employees, with the objective of enabling them to maintain meaningful employment while simultaneously enhancing their independence, confidence, and integration into the workplace. The role requires close collaboration with supported employees, empowering them to participate in decisions that affect their lives and guiding them in setting and achieving their personal and employment goals.

As an Employment Support Worker, you will support individuals living with disability in their work environments:

  • Promote a person-centred practice culture, placing supported employees, their families, and guardians at the forefront of all support planning and decision-making.
  • Participate in daily check-ins with the Employment Coach and Site Leader to establish and implement the daily support plan.
  • Deliver supports in accordance with each individual’s Support Plan or Positive Behaviour Support Plan, ensuring actions align with their personal goals and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with supported employees to maintain focus, improve productivity, and develop skills and capabilities in the workplace.
  • Engage in continuous consultation with supported employees and their families or guardians, ensuring they are the primary decision-makers regarding their lives.
  • Communicate any changes in a supported employee’s needs to your leader to facilitate timely and appropriate support adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of individual progress, documenting supports provided and progress made towards goals.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position located at West Ipswich, QLD 4305.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Disability Industry Standards.
  • Competence in computer applications.
