Engineer (ICT & AV Systems) - Casual Position

Qvest Australia is seeking a Casual Engineer specialising in ICT and AV Systems to join our Sydney team. This role involves supporting the delivery of professional audio/visual, broadcast, and ICT projects, encompassing configuration, testing, on-site installation, and commissioning.
This casual position offers flexible working hours and practical technical experience within a dynamic project setting. It may be suitable for individuals currently undertaking studies, working freelance, or seeking project-based employment. Your Responsibilities:
- Configure, test, and commission professional AV, broadcast, and ICT systems.
- Collaborate with project, support, logistics, and drafting teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing efficient client support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Assist with rack building, cabling, and installation tasks.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.
- Hours and specific tasks will vary based on project requirements.
Your Skills:
- A degree or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, Audio/Visual, or a related field is required (students are welcome to apply).
- Experience with, or a strong interest in, ICT networking (including switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) and AV integration (such as Dante, AES67, ST2110).
- Some hands-on experience in ICT networking or AV integration is required as a minimum.
- Experience with server and storage systems, and familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, XCP-ng) and databases (SQL, MariaDB) is desirable.
- Experience in hardware installation, electronic engineering, and basic mechanical engineering would be a bonus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- A fast learner with curiosity and a willingness to take on new challenges.
