Engineer - Industrial Access
Acrow Formwork & Scaffolding Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineer for a challenging, site-based Industrial Access role. Acrow Ltd (ASX:ACF) has a significant history in Australian Engineering and Construction, experiencing substantial growth through organic expansion and acquisitions. We are a leader in integrated construction solutions spanning formwork, industrial access, commercial scaffolding, and specialised systems across Australia.
Our National Engineering Team, comprising 60 individuals, is guided by experienced management dedicated to team development, delivering superior solutions, and pursuing continuous improvement.
This full-time, onsite position will be primarily based in Sydney or Brisbane. It involves FIFO/DIDO site placements at various industrial facilities to support planned shutdowns. Site attendance is expected to constitute 25-50% of your working time, with the remainder dedicated to supporting the Industrial Access design team from our Sydney or Brisbane design offices. Site attendance typically occurs in 4-6 week blocks, Monday to Friday, though this duration may fluctuate based on client demands.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Structural or Civil engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience focused on industrial access or scaffold design.
- Experience working on construction sites or at industrial facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk REVIT.
- The ability to assess the compliance of scaffold systems against relevant scaffold codes of practice and Australian standards.
- The capacity to perform structural computations pertinent to scaffold system design.
- Effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a talent for generating solutions.
- Attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Chartered status (CPEng) is highly regarded but not essential.
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of site issues concerning Acrow scaffold systems during shutdowns.
- Understanding of your scope of competence and the ability to identify when site issues require escalation to the Acrow central design office.
- A highly detail-oriented approach with an unwavering focus on safety and compliance.
- An innovative problem-solver capable of devising practical, safe solutions for complex temporary access challenges.
- Ability to communicate effectively on site with clients, scaffold contractors, and Acrow scaffolding crews.
