A high-growth, VC-backed health tech company is scaling and seeking an Engineering Manager to join its leadership team. This role is for someone passionate about using technology to make a real impact.

The Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and grow a small team of high-performing software engineers focused on building modern, scalable technology solutions. This position is well-suited for an individual who enjoys people leadership, coaching engineers, enhancing delivery practices, and maintaining sufficient technical engagement to support architectural discussions and technical decision-making.

About the Role You will lead a small team, guiding them in delivering high-quality software across modern cloud, backend, and frontend systems. The role encompasses people leadership, technical guidance, and delivery enablement. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Delivery, and Engineering leadership to remove impediments, support team performance, and foster a strong, collaborative engineering culture. A solid technical understanding is required to guide discussions on architecture, cloud platforms, system design, and engineering best practices.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Lead, coach, and develop a small team of software engineers.
• Conduct 1:1 meetings, support performance reviews, and facilitate career development and progression conversations.
• Support Senior Engineers as they assume Technical Lead responsibilities.
• Maintain technical context through selective hands-on work, architectural input, and problem-solving.
• Partner with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to coordinate delivery and remove blockers.
• Represent the team in cross-functional discussions, communicating progress, risks, and achievements.
• Support best practices across modern engineering, cloud, delivery, and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong capability in people leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
• A solid technical foundation across modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• Comfortable operating across modern backend, frontend, and cloud environments.
• Experience with some of the following technologies: Golang, TypeScript, Node.js, React, or Vue.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced product environment.
