The Role & The Team
Join the Next Generation Fleet team in delivering a new series of Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass project work, including developing test plans, conducting vehicle testing, and producing acceptance reports, alongside undertaking business-as-usual engineering support for existing fleet assets. Reporting to the Project Engineering Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with fleet, operations, and technical stakeholders to ensure vehicles are safe, fit for purpose, and operationally ready. You will be part of a collaborative engineering team driving innovation in emergency response capability, where individuals take pride in delivering assets that directly contribute to frontline safety outcomes.

The Person
You are a hands-on mechanical engineer who thrives on technical problem-solving and practical testing environments. You are equally adept at analysing systems and observing their performance in the field.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Demonstrated experience working with vehicles or heavy mechanical systems, ideally within emergency services or a similar context.
- Experience in engineering assessments, testing, validation, or project delivery.
- A strong ability to investigate issues and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, or acceptance documentation.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and eligibility for professional registration.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to work effectively across diverse stakeholders.
