Gold Coast CFO Advisory Services is seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a part-time, onsite role in Benowa. This opportunity is for an individual seeking stable, flexible work without the complexities of managing a large client base, micromanagement, or working evenings and weekends.

The company is an established Gold Coast practice experiencing growth, transitioning from traditional bookkeeping to comprehensive back-office financial management. This role offers the chance to join early, work closely with the owner, and develop into a key part of the scaling business.

The role involves direct collaboration with the practice owner, focusing on a defined set of lower-complexity clients.

Role Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including coding, reconciliations, and tidying client files in Xero (and MYOB).
• Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Reviewing work submitted by an offshore team, providing clear feedback to enhance quality.
• Managing recurring lodgement deadlines.

Initial responsibilities will not include payroll, trust accounts, or accounts payable, which will remain with the owner. There is potential for expanded duties as you integrate and your work is assessed, or the role can remain with a steady, defined scope if preferred.

Candidate Profile:

• Demonstrated bookkeeping experience, with a preference for individuals no longer seeking to build their own client base.
• Proficiency in preparing BAS, with the ability to review others' work thoroughly.
• Confidence in using Xero; MYOB experience is considered a bonus.
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills, capable of independent work and initiative.
• Ability to manage and transition between multiple client files efficiently.

Desirable Experience (Not Essential):

• Payroll experience.
• Accounts payable experience.
• Trust reconciliation experience.

Employment Details:

• Part-time, with school-friendly hours.
• Location: Benowa, Gold Coast. Initial onsite training is required for proper onboarding and confidence building, with subsequent flexibility for remote work.
• This is a permanent employee position within a growing practice. A contracting arrangement may be considered for the suitable candidate.
